Good morning IB Parents and students,
It is with utmost pride and excitement that I have been appointed the next International Baccalaureate Coordinator for Campbell High School, so I wanted to reach out and introduce myself to the magnet/IB community. When Dr. Walker and Mr. Penick approached me about taking this position, my first thought was that no one can possibly follow in Mr. Penick’s footsteps as he is synonymous with the IB program at Campbell High School. What he and the faculty, along with you all as dedicated parents, have created over the past ten years is remarkable, and I am honored to become a part of this rich tradition of success.
I am confident that as a career educator of 21 years, my journey as an advanced English teacher, cross country coach, and administrator brings a variety of experience and wealth of knowledge to the program. I am grateful that Mr. Penick will be by my side as I assume this role, and that he, along with Mr. Jones and Mrs. Mitchell will continue in their support roles. Rest assured that all of us working together will make for a smooth transition to continue the program’s more than 90% diploma rate.
A Marietta native and the product of CCSD, I eventually set down roots in Smyrna as a permanent resident along with my partner Tim, my two wonderful bonus kids, and our new puppy. A few years ago, I sought a position at Campbell High School to work with Dr. Walker once again, and in these few short years working alongside her and Mr. Penick, I have seen Campbell High School continue to improve as our community’s flagship school. I am proud to call myself a Spartan and thrilled to be a part of our students’ academic, athletic, and artistic successes.
While I cannot tell you all “it’s all going to be fine” quite the way Mr. Penick can, it is with enthusiasm and confidence that I officially join the International Baccalaureate family. I look forward to working with Campbell’s IB teachers, IB Booster Club, students and you in the coming years to continue Campbell IB’s well-established legacy of success.
