Congrats to the nearly 100 IB seniors admitted early to UGA and the 40 IB seniors admitted early to GT.
CHS IB continues to see students admitted at a much higher rate than the general applicant pool.

Our valedictorian had the highest graduating GPA (4.855) from all Cobb high schools for the 9th year in a row (at least). AND, our salutatorian had a higher GPA (4.825) than all salutatorians and all but one valedictorian, earning the third highest GPA in the entire county.
For the first time in 20 years, one of our students received a perfect score of 45 on his IB diploma. This score places Chris Gibbs in the top 1.5% of IB students in the world in 2021!
The Class of 2021 had an IB Diploma pass rate of 97%, far exceeding the world (89%) and the US (78%).
Congratulations to Gabby West (soccer) and Andrew Herrmann (baseball), who have committed to play college sports.
Ana Herndon and Rankin Odister have been selected as CHS winners of the Heisman High School Scholarship Program.
Jack Reed has been named a Ramsey Scholar at UGA.
Lauren Choi, Ana Herndon, and Daniela Valdiviezo have been selected as Semifinalists for the Coca-Cola Scholars Program.
Courtney Waybright and Morgan Davis earned the Eagle Rank with Scouts BSA. They are the first female Eagle Scouts in Cobb County and the first ALA (American Legion Auxiliary) junior members to attain the rank.
Nkechi Holmes has had four of her pieces--two written works and two visual artworks--receive recognition in the 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Two of the pieces were awarded honorable mentions, while two others were designated "Gold Key" works and will advance to the national level of competition, making Nkechi eligible for a $10,000 scholarship!
Campbell Clark was named a Presidential Scholar at Rhodes College.
Ana Herndon was named an Ervin Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis.
On Thursday, May 6, many of our seniors were recognized by the community and the faculty for their outstanding accomplishments.
Ella Kroll and Daniela Valdiviezo earned the Linda B. Keeney Scholarship awarded by the King Springs Elementary Foundation.
Mason Hill received the DAR Good Citizen Award.
Ana Herndon, Danielle Wright, and Taylor Smith received a Delta Sigma Theta Sorority scholarship from the Marietta-Roswell Alumnae Chapter.
Michael Herrmann was awarded the Smyrna Business Association Scholarship and the Georgia Dugout Club's Harvey Cochran Memorial Baseball Scholarship.
Taylor Daxe earned the Max Bacon Leadership Award.
Cecelia Pumpelly and Allie Tong received the Cobb Schools Foundation Scholarship.
Ana Herndon, Taylor Smith, and Skylar James were awarded the Alpha Kappa Alpha Scholarship.
Erica Drummond earned the Cobb Swim Coaches Association Scholarship.
Canon Jackson is the CHS Star Student.
Chris Gibbs received the 2021 AATF Outstanding Senior in French Award and the Campbell PRIDE Award.
Ten IB students, selected by the IB faculty, each received a $500 IB Learner of Distinction Scholarship funded by the IB Booster Club. The scholarship recipients were: Lauren Choi, Chris Gibbs, Ana Herndon, Kaeden Hill, Nkechi Holmes, Sydney Penick, Maria Pineda, Veronica Sills, Shawna Smith, and Everett Vershel.
Lauren Choi was named the Civic Leader of the Year.
Eleven of our students were recognized by the Marietta Daily Journal as Two-Sport Scholar-Athletes: Cayce Sherer, Andrew Herrmann, Michael Herrmann, Jackson James, Dylan Mallon, Lyric Love, Brooks Ruehle, Adam Ruehle, Rankin Odister, Alex Pounds, and Jayla Taylor.
Christina Dorr-Kapczynski was named the CHS Star International Skills Diploma Seals Student and received both the Spartan Leadership Award and the Activity Award.
Sydney Penick received the Good Citizenship Award.
Rohan Shirur and Emma Lawton (our Valedictorian and Salutatorian) were named Most Intellectual.
Caleb James and Sydney Penick were recognized as having the Most School Spirit.
Our 140 IB graduates will be attending 39 different colleges and universities.
We are so very proud of them!
